Documents a Bank Asks For When You Apply for a Home Loan

Banks differ in the details, but most ask for the same core papers. Preparing them early shortens the wait.
About you
- National ID, passport-size photographs and proof of address
- Tax identification number and recent tax return, where applicable
- Employer letter and recent salary slips, or business papers if self-employed
About your money
- Bank statements for the last several months
- A list of existing loans and credit cards
About the property
- Sale or booking agreement and the developer's papers
- Land ownership documents and the approved building plan
- A valuation done by the bank's approved valuer
